Fillers & Botox FAQ's

What is Lip Enhancement?
Lip enhancement will give you fuller, plumper lips and reduce fine wrinkles around the mouth.  Typically, lips will be injected with semi-permanent materials, Botox, or the combination of both.  Your doctor will decide what treatment will give you optimal results.

What is Oral-Facial Augmentation?
Oral-Facial augmentation will diminish the prominent creases and folds of the area below the nose to the bottom of the chin.  Often called “smile lines”, these areas include creases from the corner of the nose to the outer edge of the lip and creases around each corner of the mouth, as well as deep creases just above the chin.

What makes your cosmetic dentist a lip augmentation and oral-facial cosmetics expert?

  • They are the expert health care practitioner of the lip and oral-facial area.  This expertise and knowledge of ideal oral-facial and dental proportions lead to optimizing your augmentation, which may include cosmetic dental restorations (veneers, crowns, bleaching), orthodontics, and orthonathic surgery options.
  • They are trained and accredited to augment the lip and oral-facial area with the latest techniques and fillers.
  • They are able to administer painless injections through complete lip anesthetic.
  • They are able to provide a regular cosmetic oral-facial enhancement in combination with repeated dental visits.

Is the procedure painless?
Lip and oral-facial treatments are performed under local anesthesia.  Dentists are highly trained in essential anesthesia techniques that provide pain-free treatments.

How long is the treatment?
On the day of treatment, the procedure can last anywhere from 30-60 minutes, depending on the extent of recommended treatment.

How long do the results last?
Fillers and Botox are eventually absorbed by the body, so repeat treatments are necessary to maintain results.  They generally last about 4 months, depending on the patient and techniques used.
